Looks like my bread machine's heating element no longer likes me (also looks like i will have to go to whole foods if i want fresh bread with our chili tonight).

so, i had one brand new bread maker for years that was great, but i don't remember the brand. and i've had this hand me down for a year or so and it's ok, but i'm thinking not the bestest (even when it actually cooked bread....).

so, any bread machine preferences out there? inform me please.

(edit: and i prefer to make it, start to finish, in the machine, not take it out and bake it in the oven... i've had too many mess-ups and am too lazy to do it the other way.)

I almost always use the machine to knead the dough, and then shape it and put it in the oven to bake, but the times I've used the bread machine to bake, I'd say about 10-15% of the time, it came out lopsided. I don't really care about that, but I will say that while the texture of bread is always better in the oven, of the 3 bread machines I've had, the crust is better in this one than in the other two.
