Have you heard about Mosquito Ringtones (apparently this is not in fact new, just new to me)? as we age we naturally lose the ability to hear certain pitches. kids are using these as ringtones so teachers (or parents) can't hear the ring.

http://www.freemosquitoringtones.org/ ian can hear some i can't. pillar seems to be able to hear more than either of us and wasn't particularly thrilled.

it's kinda creepy.
