Live Journal Idol 9: Topic 1: Jayus
Mar. 17th, 2014 04:31 pmJayus “From the Indonesian, meaning a joke so poorly told and so unfunny that one cannot help but laugh.” Why did the monkey fall out of the tree? Because it was dead. Why did the second monkey fall out of the tree? Because it was stapled to the first monkey. Why did the chickens cross the road? To get to the police station. No, really, they did! -- I am the monkey but I’m not sure if I’m the first or the second and it is not clear that it matters either way I am dead the chickens have gone to the police station to report their findings pecking in the yard (the green grass yard in drought stricken california) one, two, three, four chickens searching for insects one, two monkeys: I’ve killed them so many times in my jokes it’s the only joke I know the only joke that I have told in years and you can you roll your eyes but what can we learn from these monkeys? * staplers don’t belong in trees * don’t attach yourself to deadweight * perhaps it’s better to fall with a friend well, I won’t climb trees with my little purple stapler and here I am letting go of all that I can, all that I should dropping bad habits like dead monkeys falling from trees as for falling with a friend I don’t want to be stapled, I’ve enough piercings for now but I would love to have a hand and a lifeline when I need I hold out my hand and ask now can I please have your rope, your understanding I am tired of living like a bad joke
