		an exhaustion


there is an exhaustion that comes with motherhood
	it is known and expected

but the exhaustion
	and pain that comes with an IV  and an 8 week old 
	
	is unquantifiable

to see that itty bitty body
so small in the hospital crib
	to know of catheters and spinal taps
		on the flesh of my flesh

there is an exhaustion 
	indescribable
 
	that comes
