Book Reading
Jun. 28th, 2009 01:54 pmIn the past day or so I've finished reading three books I've been working on.
1. The Elegance of the Hedgehog http://www.amazon.com/Elegance-Hedgehog-Muriel-Barbery/dp/1933372605
I don't particularly recommend it. Much of it was internal class warfare where the "smart" ones use LOTS of big words and try to prove (in their own minds or journals) that they are, indeed, smarter than the others around them. (Some of the word issues may have come from a bad translation from the french, but I don't know.) And the ending was lame.
2. The Tales of Beedle the Bard http://www.amazon.com/Tales-Beedle-Bard-Standard/dp/0545128285/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1246222714&sr=1-1
Quick. Easy. I like new and different fairy tales in general. A bit meta as it is "translated" by hermione granger and has notes by albus dumbledore and a few extra notes from j.k. rowling.
3. Predictably Irrational http://www.amazon.com/Predictably-Irrational-Hidden-Forces-Decisions/dp/006135323X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1246222831&sr=1-2
Non-Fiction. A fascinating look at behavioral economics and choices that people make. I recommend this one.
